How to choose your kurti size online

A practical guide to measuring bust, waist and hip, reading fit notes, and choosing a comfortable kurti size when shopping online.

Kalindi editorial

Choosing a kurti size online gets easier when you compare your body measurements with the size chart and read the product’s fit notes. The letters XS, S and M are a starting point; the measurements and silhouette tell you more.

Measure before you choose

Use a soft measuring tape and stand naturally. Keep the tape level and comfortably close to the body, without pulling it tight.

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waist, where your body bends.
  • Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Write the numbers down in inches or centimetres. Then open the Kalindi size guide and use the same unit throughout. If you measure a favourite kurti instead, remember that its measurements include room for movement, while a body-size chart may not.

Read the fit as well as the size

A straight kurti, an A-line kurti and a relaxed co-ord set can feel different even when they carry the same size label. Look at the product’s fabric, length, sleeve shape and fit description. A woven fabric with little stretch usually feels different from a stretch fabric; the product page should be your source for that particular piece.

Between two sizes?

Start with the measurement that matters most for the shape of the garment. For a fitted top, check the bust carefully; for bottoms, pay attention to waist and hip. If a product has a relaxed cut, your usual size may work, but do not treat that as a rule for every style. Compare the exact measurements and ask us if you are unsure.

A short checklist before checkout

  1. Check that the selected colour and size are available on the product page.
  2. Read the fabric and fit notes, not only the headline photograph.
  3. Check the size guide in your preferred unit.
  4. Review the returns and exchanges policy before ordering.

The right size is the one that lets you move comfortably and wear the piece your way. If you want a second opinion, contact Kalindi with your measurements and the style you are considering.

Should I choose a larger size if I am between two kurti sizes?

Compare your bust, waist and hip with the size chart, then read that product’s fit notes. A relaxed style and a fitted style can need different choices. If you are unsure, contact Kalindi with your measurements and the product name.
